Deep, syrupy, and full of soul. Café Alma is a Bali Blue Moon, heavy-bodied and rich, with melting dark chocolate and a ribbon of molasses, finished by a bright twist of orange peel. Bold enough to hold its own with milk, smooth enough to sip black and slow. A cup with real depth, and a story to match.
The name. Alma means soul. We named it for the soul at peace, the heart that finds its rest in God. It is the same stillness our whole brand is named for.
O tranquil soul, return to your Lord. (Qur'an 89:27–28)
The farm. Alma is grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Agung, in Bali's Kintamani highlands, on small family farms organized through the Subak Abian, a thousand-year-old tradition of tending the land in harmony with people, the earth, and the Divine. Cherries are hand-picked and wet-hulled in the traditional Giling Basah method, which gives the bean its signature bluish cast and the cup its heavy, syrupy body. In keeping with their tradition, the farmers never use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.
